What is Softlock Smart Token (eSign)?

Softlock Smart Token is a USB hardware device which performs security operation like: Signing and encryption and keep user identity in secure way.

What is the difference between eSign STD, eSign PRO and eSign BIO?

Softlock provides Smart Token with three models:

 1. eSign BASIC
     It provides the basic functionality for a smart token to perform Secure Authentication and account storing.
 2. eSign STD
     It provides the basic functionality for a smart token to Secure Authentication and account storing. It contains more storage  and more powerful hardware components.
 3. eSign BIO
      It provides the basic functionality for a smart token to perform Secure Authentication and account storing.  It is an extended  version for the STD model with added Biometric module (Finger Print) which is required for login.

What is the function of Softlock Smart Token (eSign)?

eSign provides the following functionalities:
       1. Digital certificate generation and management.
       2. Electronic signing and verification.
       3. Data encryption and decryption.
All secure operations are completely provided by the internal device hardware.

Can I use eSign in Windows Logon instead of User Name and Password?

Can I use eSign in Windows VPN Logon instead of User Name and Password?

Can I use eSign in Website logon instead of User Name and Password?

Yes, you can use eSign in website logon by using certificate logon option that supported by webservers. You will need your website to request user’s certificate. When user tries to Login to website he will be prompt to select certificate which exist on eSign. Can I use eSign in Email Encryption and Digital Signature?

Yes, you can use eSign in email signing and encryption as Softlock support security standard interfaces (CSP and PKCS) so it is easy to use your smart token to sign and encrypt mails in different email client programs like: Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla thunderbird. What are the supported Operating Systems by eSign?

Supported Operating Systems are Windows (32/64 Bit) 2K, XP, 2003, Vista, 7, 2008 and Linux (32 Bit)

Does eSign have a free SDK?

We support free SDK with many interfaces to be suitable for many programming languages. It Offers DLL native interface, COM interface and Java Native interface.

How can I manage Softlock eSign?

You can manage eSign using Softlock Smart token Software which enables user to mange certificates, manage keys, and change token pin. You can download it free from download section.

How many Fingerprints can Softlock eSign BIO store?

You can store up to 6 finger prints.

How many certificates can eSign store?

Number of certificates depends on number of private keys stored on smart token and maximum number is 8 certificates.

After how many failed PIN trials does Softlock eSign get locked?

For token user maximum number of trials is 5 times after that the token will be locked.

What is the RSA key length that Softlock eSign support?

Maximum RSA key length supported is 256 byte.
